Elementary Education Practicum 1 Experience
- I was placed at Highland Acres at the 3rd grade level.
- Many students were cognitively higher than the average 3rd grader.
- I was able to teach 6 Language Arts Lessons and 1 Art Lesson Plan of my own along with many from Mrs. Fladeland.
- Along with the lessons, I conducted and created multiple forms of formative and summative assessments.
- Many students I was able to work with were at the higher end of the socioeconomic status and were ELL students.
- I participated in several PLC meetings where we discussed assessment data from second and third grade. We then placed the students into groups for daily rotations and referred some students for special education.
- The Practicum experience was 90 hours.
Special Education Practicum Experience
- I was placed at Wachter Middle School.
- The students were at the lowest end of the socioeconomic status.
- I was able to coteach 5 math transitions lessons at the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade with Mrs. Varriano.
- I was also able to observe multiple IEP meetings.
- The Practicum experience was cut short because of the COVID-19; however, I was able to teach 40 hours.
Elementary Education Practicum 2 Experience
- I was placed at Dorothy Moses Elementary School at the 1st grade level with Mrs. Massey-Wheeler.
- Many students were at the lower end of the socioeconomic status.
- Multiple students in this class were on, or going to be referred for an IEP. This was in speech, a learning disability, or an emotional disability.
- I taught 2 Math, 2 Language Arts, 2 Social Studies, and 2 Science Lessons. Along with these lessons, I tutored multiple students in small group rotations for math and reading.
- I participated in several PLC meetings where we discussed assessment data from four first grades. We then placed the students into groups for daily rotations.
- The Practicum experience was cut short because of the COVID-19; however, I was able to teach 90 hours with two half days and two full days of independent teaching.

- I was placed at both Simile Middle School and Bismarck High School.
- The students I taught were in grades 6, 7, and 11.
- I taught the math and science intervention groups.
- For the juniors, I helped with college applications and ACT preparation.
- I taught multiple students on an IEP, 504 plan, or behavior plan.
- I also taught students whose primary language was Spanish.
- I taught over 45 hours during this experience.
Cesar Chavez
- The summer of 2019, I taught students from the summer school of Caesar Chavez.
- The primary language spoken at the school was Spanish.
- I taught 2 math lessons, and 2 language arts lessons in Spanish, with the limited Spanish I know.
- I taught students from many backgrounds and cultures.
- Many students were on an IEP, 504 plan, or behavior plan
- I taught for over 30 hours during this experience.
