I am from St. Paul, MN right in the heart of the city. I will graduate from the University of Mary in December of 2020 with degrees in both Elementary Education and Special Education. I chose to pursue education because my ultimate goal in life is to help as many people I can, and what better future than education. I chose Special Education because of my family members who have disabilities, in particular my younger brother. I found such a deep connection learning about Special Education and am incredibly grateful for the opportunities the University of Mary has given to further my understanding in all subjects, especially education.
Although much of my time is spent in the classroom or in learning, I love to play sports! In high school I played football, soccer, basketball, and ran both cross country and track. I also have coached track at my alma mater, St. Agnes School, in St. Paul, MN for the past 2 years. Building trust and loyalty through tough workouts with the runners has built a foundation for creating relationships with my future students, and helped carry out my education at the University of Mary. I am extremely confident that this formation will be what helps me continue to be a passionate, hard working, and teachable educator. |
